Z1W utilizes scan-guns that are way ahead of what’s been used in the past
The scan-guns used in Z1W are wifi-connected in your warehouse. They are browser-based rather than application based. This means instead of a stand-alone local application, these new scan-guns are truly real-time connected to the back-end system. As items are scanned, the data is immediately stored in the Z1W server. No uploads, no batch processing, just real-time control of what’s happening. The instant a gun scans product to a location, your customer 10,000 miles away can see the transaction complete on their view into the Z1W web-portal. No questions. No problem. Just all of the details, instantly available to all stakeholders.
Some of the scan-guns have integrated cameras. This means you can take photos of products during receiving or shipping and link the photos to the transaction record. Now your customers (and your staff) can see in real-time the condition of the product as it’s being received, shipped or sitting in a storage location. At any point during product movement, you can record the transaction and a photo of the actual item.
For example, you can use the gun to take a photo of the product stored in your warehouse. If you’re storing high-end products and need to record the condition of the product, you can take a photo and link it to the inventory item. When anyone views that inventory item, they can view an actual photo of its condition on the shelf.
Smartphones, Tablets and Desktop Scanners
You can also take photos with your smartphone, tablet or desktop camera/scanner. This allows you to store images of important documents like shipment documents, contracts or any other document you need to track. Z1W has a complete image management system built-in to the site allowing for in-context storage of documents and photos.
