Zone1Warehouses (Z1W) gives complete access and control over products stored in any Zone1 warehouse in the world. You can view inventory in real-time, initiate and direct shipments from your computer and view a complete detailed audit trail of what happened with every transaction down to the item level detail. You can do this with a browser and a web connection.
How it works
Z1W is a secure website that connects Importers, Manufacturers and Warehouse Operators along with their customers, in a secure trading relationship that gives all authorized parties visibility and transaction control of products stored in warehouses and shipped to customers.
Importers have dash-board control over one or many warehouses which can be
located anywhere in the world. Everything is accomplished in real-time and every
detail is accounted for and all activity is visible to all authorized stake-holders.
The secret is in the Z1-Platform combined with Magic-Printers and optional scan
Each warehouse has an HP “e-Print” Printer is installed. We call these printers
“Magic-Printers” because the technology allows the printers to be connected through
WiFi to the cloud. The warehouse simply enters the printer’s email address into the Z1W site. That’s it. You’re now connected to the warehouse printer and ready to go. No complex IT infrastructure or
support required. Amazing.
Next, your inventory for each warehouse is loaded into the system. Now you’re ready
to manage everything.
Let’s say you want to ship product from the warehouse in Napa to one of your
customers. Simply choose “Napa” from your list of warehouses. Now you can view
up-to- the-minute inventory balances. Next select the products, quantities and your
customer’s ship-to location and press “Ship”. Instantly the Magic-Printer in the
selected warehouse prints the picking list, packing list and delivery label.
The warehouse staff then uses the pick/ship documents to pick and ship the product.
(Scan guns are optional). Automatically, inventory is updated, tracking logs are
created, shipping documents are prepared and your product is on the way. No
emails, no faxes, no phone calls, no stock-status checks required. All of the
traditional complexity is simply eliminated and doesn’t exist. But what DOES exist is
a complete on-line audit trail of everything that happened. Time, dates, and staff
actions are all logged automatically, giving you visibility into every detail.
Restocking products to the warehouse is just as easy. You select the “Re-stock”
function in Z1W with your browser then select the target warehouse, products and
quantities you wish to ship out. A Picking/Packing form prints on your own Magic-
Printer or on the Magic-Printer in the warehouse of the product’s manufacturer. The
manufacturer then ships the product along with the Picking/Packing Form to the warehouse.
When the shipment arrives at the selected warehouse; the Picking/Packing Form
Number is entered into the Z1W website by the warehouse receiving staff. This
automatically references the shipment details then creates and prints a Put-away
Form complete with the exact product and quantity details and the correct
warehouse location for storage (scan guns are optional here of course).
The inventory is verified “received” and if any adjustments are needed they are noted in the system by the receiving staff. You instantly see any discrepancies at your end and can take immediate action to resolve any problems. However the vast majority of the time, there are no discrepancies so the product simply flows into inventory at the remote warehouse without the possibility of data-entry errors. And
you can see it all from wherever you’re located, in real-time as it happens. You have
complete visibility into every step of the process.
Extend this to your customers
If you’d like, you can enable your customers to access the Z1W platform and see
their “slice of the world”. The experience they see is and extension of your brand and
it allows them to track shipments and to perform the functions you’ve
authorized. You can “customer-enable” any combination of functions allowing selected customers control over selected processes.
Payment for Services
Because all of the activity is directed and tracked within Z1W, fees for warehouse
services are computed from the actual activity performed. A complete audit trail
exists so when it comes time to pay for services, all activity details are easily and
automatically reconciled. You simply review and authorize the payment and the Z1
settlement system initiates payments to the warehousing service provider using your
selected payment method. Of course, all payment details are logged providing you
with complete visibility of that activity as well.
